In 1998 a group of Woolston residents gave a presentation to the local Community Action Forum about the history and heritage of Woolston. The group posed the question - "as we approach the millennium, is there a way of celebrating the past by creating something for the future?"
The response was overwhelming - reclaim the waste ground on the corner of Portsmouth Road and Bridge Road and improve the environment by creating a community garden. A special place designed by local people for the enjoyment of everyone, and which celebrates Woolston’s rich aviation and maritime heritage.
