The hoarding was finally removed and the garden was opened at a very moving public ceremony, with speeches from our M.P. John Denham, the designer Pete Codling, the Mayor Christine Kelly and the chair of WCA Phil Emery.

This was followed by a prayer and blessing from Reverend Peter Matthews, who served on the initial St Mark’s committee.
